Fireworks Safety Reminder:
As we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July, Highland Beach Fire Rescue reminds everyone to enjoy the holiday safely and responsibly.
Here are a few key tips to keep your celebration safe and fun:
- Fireworks that explode or fly are only legal in Florida on July 4th, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
- Use fireworks only outdoors, on a flat surface.
- Keep a hose or bucket of water nearby, just in case.
- Never relight a dud — soak it in water.
- Don’t use fireworks under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Always supervise children and keep them at a safe distance.
Local Ordinance Reminder: Fireworks and flame effects are not allowed inside buildings, tents, or enclosed spaces in Highland Beach. If you’re planning a display, you may need a permit. Check with Town Hall for details.
