St. Lucy Catholic Church warmly invites you to participate in their annual U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony—a tradition that honors and respectfully retires old, used, or damaged American flags.

Date: Sunday, November 9 Time: 11:00 AM Location: St. Lucy Catholic Church (Reception to follow in the Parish Hall)

If you have any flags in need of retirement, please drop them off at the Parish Office, Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. To ensure inclusion in the ceremony, all flags must be received by Friday, November 7.

The retirement of worn or unserviceable flags is a ceremonial act that honors the dignity of the flag and the ideals it represents. As such, it must be carried out with decorum, reverence, and full adherence to established protocols. This includes ensuring that the ceremony is conducted in a respectful manner, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the U.S. Flag Code and longstanding Civic and Veterans’ traditions.
